Each collection stems directly from a holistic concept, imagined before the design process begins. New inspiration imagery is produced in-house, through physical experimentation and digital manipulation of fabrics and every day objects – capturing the anomalous reactions of nature.


The short film ‘Deliquesce’ (2010) reflects the essence of the Steffie Christiaens label, portraying the relation between time and changing shapes. A soluble black dress dissolves away as a model moves gracefully underwater, demonstrating the slow transformation and new shapes formed by a chemical reaction. The silver couture dress that is revealed underneath is an exquisite example of Steffie Christiaens artisanal craft.
